Company History
1995
Manitox Company Formation
Our company’s history began in 1995 in Kesznyéten. Our founder, Tibor Vasvenszki, drawing on the engineering and business experience he had gained at the Tiszai Chemical Complex, launched the plastic film manufacturing business with a modest fleet of machinery, but with great professional dedication.
Right from the start, our operations have been guided by a commitment to sustainable film production based on recycled raw materials: even our very first products – feed and lime sacks – were made from recycled materials!
1999
In 1999, our production capacity was expanded with new machinery, which enabled us to significantly broaden our product range. In the years that followed, we continued to launch new products manufactured in-house onto the market, including, from 2002, paint film, which quickly became one of the company’s flagship products.
Thanks to the partnerships we have established with wholesale partners and further technological developments, our products have become available through an increasing number of retail channels across the country, including the product ranges of the largest domestic retail chains.
2006
Hall extension
We purchased an additional hall at our Kesznyéten site – which has paved the way for future expansion of our finishing and extrusion facilities.
2011
The Táci investment – the establishment of Tácfol Ltd
2011 marked a major milestone in the company’s history, when Manitox, in partnership with Remat Zrt., established Tácfol Kft, a tray film manufacturing company, on the site of the former Mídász1 Kft.
The new production facility has provided the company with a significant increase in extrusion capacity and further opportunities for growth.
2012
Modern engineering
In 2012, the purchase of new, modern Danish machinery enabled us to significantly increase our production volume of bin liners, whilst also producing products of outstanding quality. At the same time, we were able to automate the production of paint film.
These developments have provided an opportunity not only to tap into the domestic market but also to explore and launch export opportunities.
It was at this point that Gábor completed his studies in Budapest and Cambridge and joined the company.
2014
Through gradual improvements, taking things one step at a time, we have succeeded in further expanding our markets and achieving ever-increasing export sales.
In 2014, a warehouse was opened in Budapest to coordinate logistics processes.
2015
2015 marked another milestone in the company’s history – with the acquisition of Laplast Kft in Tiszaújváros, we expanded both our manufacturing capacity and our product range to include printed products, embossed films and heat-reflective films.
2017-18
In 2017, following the acquisition of Remat Zrt., Tácfol Kft. also became wholly owned by Manitox. This was followed by the merger of Laplast Kft. and Tácfol Kft. to form Manitox Kft.
As a result of the mergers, Manitox Kft. has grown from a small business into a stable medium-sized company.
2019-2021
Further upgrades to our packaging machinery, which have enabled us to expand our product range. As a result, our product portfolio now includes roll-type bin liners with drawstrings, as well as flat sheets, bags and pallet covers perforated for rolling!
2022-2023
We responded immediately to the soaring energy prices in 2022 and made the energy supply at both our sites more efficient:
In Tácon, we carried out a solar panel installation, whilst in Tiszaújváros we implemented a comprehensive energy efficiency project, as part of which we modernised the windows and doors, replaced the light bulbs with energy-saving ones, and installed a heat pump system for cooling and heating that covers the entire production facility, as well as a solar panel array. We currently meet approximately 15 % of our production’s electricity consumption from our own solar power source.
2023-2024
We have introduced a new corporate management system to ensure more efficient operations in the long term.
In 2024, we built a 540 m² warehouse in Tiszaújváros – for the storage of paper and semi-finished products. We used this facility to relocate the manufacturing machinery from Kesznyéten.
2025
Handover of a new extruder and warehouse at Tiszaújváros – relocation of the entire extruder facility to Kesznyéten.
2026
Our latest investments – a new sheet-fed finishing machine, a edge trimmer and a slitting machine – mean that we have effectively upgraded all our machinery to meet today’s standards.
In addition, we are developing our company through a comprehensive digitalisation project and by introducing new IT and manufacturing support tools.
